Manny “The Pitbull” Gamburyan posted a solid W last night at WEC 44 at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. Manny stepped into the octagon well prepared for the heavy hands of Leonard Garcia, stuck to his game plan and came away with a unanimous decision.

While Manny Gamburyan was forced to work hard for his takedowns, he did so at keys moments and managed to deliver some ground and pound as well. Garcia dared Gamburyan to play into his game at times, lowering his hands and giving Gamburyan his chin. Gamburyan wasn’t having any of and stuck with the clinch game and well timed close range blows. In the end, great conditioning, a solid game plan, a good chin and a sound ground game earned Gamburyan the victory. Manny was very happy after the fight and showed respect for Leonard Garcia saying “I knew he was a tough guy,” he said. “Guys, he really does hit hard.” Manny even mentioned “doing it again”.

This victory for Gamburyan moves him very close to a shot a the WEC Featherweight Belt

Gamburyan moves to 10-4 overall and 2-0 in the WEC with the win.
